Hi there *waves*

So i havn't hit up my blog for a few days now, had lots of work to be doing, oh and Call of duty Black ops came out awesome game i must add got a sick poster at the launch, it shows how a few extra polygons can go a long way :).

been doing lots of little animation test still, thinking i need to get on and try and start animating for my actual short animation brief, i have basically been playing around with different movements and placeing them in a half finished version of one of the environments,

"its ashame i forgot to change the colour of the inside eyes on the sitting down one :("

need to try and get as much done as possible as im off to "Encounters Film Festival" in Bristol on the 17th so thats going to be 4 days out of the mix, should be fun though, they are showing one of my favourite animations aswell.

I love this short animation one of my most favouritest pieces

anyway time to hit the sack ....bye for now :)

IT's all grEEEEEEEEEEEN!

Back in the green screen room today, helping out harry with his second year project, i forgot how
much the green room screws with the eyes, no wonder im having to have a relax now and watch the justice league animated film.....

ohhhhhh how i miss the days of Fox kids, so i have decided now that i will try and update my blog daily no point haveing it collecting dust.

Downloaded a really cool app for my i phone the other day, called "Hipstamatic" you can basically you change the lens and flash of the camera and get some cool looking effects.

I have been messing around with the footage that was recorded today, i will render out a little clip and post it up once done .

Started to do a few animation test!!

so now that Mr Eggbert is rigged i have started to do some animation tests just to nail down the way he will move, its been a long while since i animated a character :/, think the last time was in First year, it kinda sucks that we didnt have more animation lesson through my second year.

first i started with a smal 25 framehalf walk cycle which came out kinda cool

then i had him playing a little footy :) its just a quick little test :)

more tomorrow -_-

although i have got my mock job application out the way, buisness cards look cool :)

Update :)

So life still has been hectic, working through this brief of creating a short individual animation for my first Semester. i have chosen to re-design the story of the sword of the stone.

at first i was a little stuck for inspiration, but its surprising what a trip out of stoke on trent (They call this place city) to Birmingham a REAL! city, makes me miss the hustle and bustle of London :( spent an awfully long time in forbidden planet maybe a little too long my bit of plastic felt lighter from the card machine as i left :P

Moving on i have finally now got my main character for my production rigged :D YIPEEEEEEEEE, i am no longer squished into the great big invisible wall of "ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

also just finished putting the finishing touches to my CV (first draft :P) and promotional material for one of my assignments, now just to sort out my postcards with my blog spot address on.

just a quick one i am now off to bed and watch Inception for the second time Awesome movie, if you are interested in dreams and the subconscious part of dreams you will love it :D

over and out!!!
YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE we have a rig !!!

Assistant Animator

"Lemar Williams"

This was something i done back in my second year, just been too slack to upload it. One of my 2D Traditional animation friends "Lemar Williams" wanted me to create him some back plates for his final year animation.

He gave me a Living room to model, this was cool because the style he wanted was a like Toon shaded Cell look With toon lines, i really like this effect, i have noticed it cropping up more and more these days.

This is the Style he wanted to go for and what i could use as reference also.

This is what i Created for Lemar, it looks real nice in HD 1080, one thing i found tricky was that he wanted it to have a nighttime low light.

Back To Bloggin!!!!!!!!!

SO..............................
Its back to uni, dayng its been like 3 weeks back and already the work has started by the the truck load, we are being given briefs that they like to call "Hit the Ground Running" briefs --_--

They are Fun Dont get me wrong......

we have a week long brief for each of the 3 weeks, they are basically to tighten up our animating skills.

the First brief was to create 9 Simple animations using Primative shapes.

They had to be along the lines of these principles.

seeing how i hadnt done much animation using maya, i found th
ese tasks to help improve my sens of timing.

I liked how they turned out in t
he end, it was a shock haveing to create within the tight time scale, and also using 3D.

Here is a little screen shot, i will link the final piece once its uploaded to my vimeo account .
